Spring Hair Colours

Thinking of popping some colour in your hair this spring? Check out our tips to hair colouring afro hair.

1. CONSULT A PROFESSIONAL
First and foremost we can’t stress enough how important it is to consult with a professional. Especially if its your first experience of adding colour to your hair. A colour patch test will need to be performed 48hrs prior to having your colouring done to ensure that you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients.

2. GET REGULAR TREATMENTS
Most hair colouring products can be quite harsh for the hair. So to maintain your luscious locks we recommend that you have regular treatments weekly/fortnightly to ensure any lost moisture is returned using products like Moroccan Oil restorative and hydrating masks.

3. TAKE IT SLOW
Changing your hair colour can be quite nerve racking. What if you don’t like it? There is that chance, especially if you’ve done your whole head, so we recommend a slow approach, adding shoots of colour to the front and gradually transforming it all.

4. PLAN YOUR HAIR TRANSFORMATION
Colouring your hair can be quite liberating, but don’t make the mistake of changing your hair colour repeatedly too soon and/or adding other treatments to your hair like relaxing or more colour. If you have a plan for your dream hairstyle, let our hair stylist know and they will advise in the best order to do it in.

5. HAVE FUN CHOOSING YOUR COLOUR
Decisions, decisions… There are just so many colours to choose from, but which one is for you. You want a colour that compliments your skin tone, then it will give your skin that warm sunkist glow. Play around with the idea a little bit before going for it, ask friends and family, try on wigs in that colour before going for it, but most of all just ensure your hair is in good condition beforehand so you will really maximise on the beauty a little bit of colour can add.
